Texture
Some of the dictionary definitions of texture.... 'the grain of feel of a thing' or 'feel, touch, appearance, surface, grain' or 'the feel, appearance or consistency of a substance or fabric.'
The contrasting textures in this palm are fantastic, there is the super smooth, bright green of the stem contrasted with the fibrous fronds as they break away from the trunk. I almost feel as if I should be making paper or something from this fabulous fibre! It has been so dry and windy lately that any plant would struggle to survive but my trusty old palm is doing quite well despite the adverse conditions. Thank goodness we had some beautiful rain this morning!

Tea towels on Etsy
I was very happy to be included in this Esty article promoting tea towels compiled by Elizabeth at flyingrhymes. She asked for photographs, including the seller and product, this easier said than done! I must admit some of the photos are really stunning, especially this lead one from misselliemay, so professional!

Printing
Well, my printer is working again, thanks to my clever husband! I found it quite ironic that the first order I had to print was about endurance. The tortoise is exactly how I feel about my business some days - Moving very slowly! Anyway I am very grateful that we didn't have to take the printer all the way to Cape Town and pay a fortune to get it working!

Melt down!
I have had the most disastrous three days. My trusty printer has decided not to work. The key pad is frozen and will not budge! I have had to talk very sweetly to my customers who I must say have been very understanding. My husband (the computer boffin) is in Cape Town at the moment so I will just have to wait patiently and hope that he can work some magic.
I did contact the suppliers, who are in Spain, and they did try to fix it on-line. This was an amazing experience. They connect up to your computer from there and you can watch the cursor moving around on your computer and see exactly what they are doing. It's quite unnerving to me to think that someone so far away is actually moving the cursor on MY machine, here in Hermanus. As fantastic as it was, still no luck in fixing the problem! I live in hope for Friday!

Hearts
I found this pattern for crochet hearts here and couldn't resist making a few. I filled them with lavender from my garden and they make very good pincushions! Then I decided to put one in with each order, seeing as it's getting close to valentines day. Hope my customers enjoy the surprise! After shipping them I did have a wonder about sending plants etc, Not sure it's O.K. with customs?
