I decided to use up all my scraps to make a crochet blanket. You can see who is the most interested in that. Fortunately the work in progress is underneath a shopping bag, in the basket! The trouble with using up scraps is that now they are all finished, but the blanket is too small so I 'll have to buy more wool, resulting in more scraps! It's a never ending cycle.
New cushions listed today in my shop.Delicious Leaf Hedgerow
Proteas I have used the 'delicious monster' design for a tea towel before and the 'hedgerow' as a multi colour cushion cover, but re coloured they look completely different. The 'protea' design was done a while ago but I didn't like the original colorway and it seemed a good idea to use this taupe, lime and turq colour combo!
These were featured on Mzansi- madames blog. I'm really flattered to have my products linked with Skinnyla Minx! They all look so good together, especially the cushions. There is also an interview here.
I have decided to call this design 'Hedgerow'. I am happy with the colours now and this is printed onto fabric. I started making a tea towel to list in my shop but ran out of tape so made a cushion cover instead. Hopefully I will complete the tea towel tomorrow!I have used my design and added in a spot on the top and for the backing. It is attached with an embroidery stitch ( not sure what it's called) to add a bit of texture. The weather is dull and miserable, pouring with rain, so not so easy to get good photos.
I have been working on some new designs and colourways. I find with the ease of changing colours in photoshop I get even more confused as to colour combos. These are only in artform but I am going to start printing them on fabric tomorrow and see how they look. I might change my mind and do some softer neutral colours if I make cushion covers. These were designed with tea towels in mind hence the cheerful colours.
The colours also look completely different when they are transferred onto fabric. It's quite difficult to get clear, bright colours with my printer. Maybe I should stickto the neutral colours after all!
